Pardon me if I am not swayed by your BLOG POST about blogs being dead. As much as I was trying to ignore the pile of “use this social network instead” posts from a few blogs I will not name, the repetition of the idea has worked my last nerve. Most of the mainstream, average Joe’ s are just signing up for the read-a-bunch-of-blogs-every-morning train. A vast majority of the less savvy individuals are only recently going to the web for all their news and the websites they happen to frequent tend to be all blogs.
The main argument in the camp that believes blogs are dead is that the arena is ripe with commercialism and that the top blogs all belong to companies. Same thing happens to all media, that’s life. How many other media outlets started off with some nerdy guy/girl trying something new and now some big companies run most of it? Even if most of the blogs out are trying to sell you something, there are still a few folks who just feel like typing out some stuff off the top of their heads at no charge.
Even the more prominent social networks that are (according to the blogs are dead camp) supposed to replace blogging include a blog with the package. People like to read/hear other people ramble about things, that’s why our languages have so many words in them. Pardon my annoyance with folks blogging about blogging being obsolete since it just sounds like a pile of pretentious hooey. It doesn’t matter what this blog says anyway, according to those other big corporate blogs this one is just a vampire.
